The Rilke Schule Verein (RSV)
is the parent, teacher, community organization (PTO) supporting the
Rilke Schule. Verein is the German word for association, club, union or
society. The Verein is a non-profit corporation that is legally
separate from the school.
Our Mission: To engage in
activities relating to the support of the Rilke Schule Charter School,
the education of the children enrolled therein, the fostering of
relationships between the school, parents, teachers and the community,
and to serve its members and the public.
Our Goals: These are the main goals as the support organization for the Rilke Schule, all focused on the success of the school.
1) Recruitment - bringing new students to the school helps create a vibrant, sustainable community.
2) Volunteers - all schools need volunteers. Optional and charter programs thrive on the work of their parent and community volunteer.
3) Fundraising - much, but not all, of the
financial resources needed by the school are provided by the State of
Alaska. Parents and community members improve the school by providing
funds for basic and enrichment programs.

OKTOBERFEST COMMITTEE WANTED What we would like to do is have a family oriented Annual Oktoberfest/potluck/Auction in October. This would be a Rilke Family oriented social/fundraiser. We need coordinators and volunteers to take this on. Anyone interested please email Alicia Zagorski at aliciazagorski@gmail.com. New ideas welcome, more details available upon request.
