Drop Off time: 7:50-8:15 am. Pick up time M-TH 3-3:15 and F 1:30 - 1:45.
Our busiest and most congested moments of the day are when children are dropped off and picked up from school in the morning and afternoon. SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
Every family must turn in a Pick Up form stating who has permission to take their children home from school.
Here is a map of our parking lot with a drop-off and pick up plan for parents.
Enter the parking lot at the lower (western) entrance ONLY and follow the signs posted.
Please DO NOT EXIT YOUR CAR if you are using the drop-off and pick-up line, as it causes a big slowdown and inconvenience for everyone else.
Please USE THE CROSSWALK ONLY during drop-off and pick-up.
Please EXIT ONLY from the upper entrance/exit during drop-off and pick-up.
For faster pickup, have your child's name posted on a piece of paper on the passenger side window so the staff can read the name and easily get the right child to the right car. Children should always get in and out on the passenger side.
Use caution at all times. Watch for dump trucks.
Parking for staff and volunteers staying past the pick-up drop-off period is available in the first two rows. There is NO EXIT from the second row during this time, as this is the CROSSWALK AREA. Parking for parents delivering children is available in the next three rows.
Curbside drop-off and pick-up traffic should follow signage around the western and southern sides of the parking lot, and up to the school building by the blue Conex. Pick-up and Drop-off is from the CURBSIDE lane ONLY. The other lane is for departing thru traffic ONLY.
Please DO NOT exit northbound on Lake Otis Parkway at drop-off or pick-up time. It is a busy commuter street with traffic from TWO other schools at this time of day. Use Lake Otis for SOUTHBOUND traffic only. All other traffic should turn LEFT on Sentry Drive, and then turn RIGHT onto Independence Rd. to get back to Abbott/Dimond Rd. at a traffic light.
ASD asks that parents not arrive before the final bell (3:00).This is for safety reasons in case emergency vehicles need to get through.
CARPOOLING TO RILKE The Carpool Map is now hanging up in the main lobby at school, sponsored by the Rilke Schule Verein. Add yourself to the map with a numbered push pin and then fill out an index card with the number of your push pin, name, address, and contact information. Then families can see at a quick glance who lives nearby and is available to carpool.
