BEFORE SCHOOL CARE Our Smart Start Before School Care is offered Monday
- Friday from 7-8 AM. The cost is $125 per quarter. Payment must
accompany registration - no spot will be held without payment. Classes
will be cancelled if less than 10 children are enrolled for each
session.
Every student may bring breakfast that does not need to be heated and can be eaten without requiring much cleanup.
This program will be run by Herr Birmanns, Herr Helgesen, and Frau Schwicht.

HOMEWORK CLUB Rilke Schule offers the Homework Club Monday through Friday on regular school days (not on half or in-service days) from 3:15-4:00PM/4:00-5:00 PM.
The cost is $125 Quarterly for the first 45 Minutes, plus an additional $125 Quarterly for the next hour. Payment MUST accompany registration - no spot will be held without payment.
If you sign up your child for homework club on Fridays, you MUST also sign them up separately for the Optional Intensive Program.
Each student must pack their own healthy snack for after school.

RILKE DRAMA CLUB - THEATER AG - ARBEITSGEMEINSCHAFT, 2009-2010
The Rilke Drama club is open to any Rilke student, but the maximum number of students is limited.
WHEN: It is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 – 4:15 PM in the multipurpose room.
LEADERS: The leaders are Frau Cooper and Herr Birmanns.
COST: The cost is $100 per quarter (this allows us funds from which to purchase costumes, props, fabric, etc.). Checks should be made payable to the Rilke Schule Verein. Please print out and turn in the Registration form for 4th Quarter at the front office.
NOTE: This after school activity ends at 4:15PM. Students must be picked up promptly or be signed up for additional after-school activities (e.g., Homework Club). There will be a $25 charge for every 15 minutes parents are late, paid directly to the staff member who stays after 4:15 to babysit. Three late child pick-ups will result in removal of the student from the program. Students may be
removed from the program for chronic misbehavior. There will be no
refund of fees.
SPANISH CLUB The Spanish Club is open to any Rilke Student. It meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:15 PM in Herr Birmann's classroom. Learn to speak Spanish through games and fun activities.
COST: If you have paid for full-time homework club, there is no extra charge, otherwise the fee is $50 per quarter.

FRENCH LANGUAGE CLASSES AT RILKE SCHULE There will be
French Language classes offered after school, open to all
ASD K-6th grade students. Students will be actively engaged learning
beginning French through the use of songs, play, and games, taught by
French native speaker, Julia Huzieff.
There are two classes to choose from: After school - Tuesdays and
Thursdays 4-5pm (drama students can come at 4:15pm), January 26th -
March 4th. Only $50 for 12 hours of instruction.
Friday 1:30 to 3:00 pm, January 29th - February 26th (during Optional Intensives). Only $25
for 7.5 of instruction. There are registration forms in the Rilke

*There are no classes on Snow Days or if school is canceled for other reasons. *A minimum registration is needed for each class. *Each student must pack their own healthy snack. *These classes will offer an introduction to the French language. Students will be actively engaged in learning the entire class. Beginning vocabulary will be taught through the use of songs, stories and play. Some of the following topics will be explored this session: Greetings and Polite Expressions, Alphabet and Accents; Colors and Shapes; and Numbers.

GIRL SCOUTS There is an active Girl Scout Program at Rilke Schule. A Brownie troop for 2nd and 3rd graders meets bi monthly on Thursday evenings. A 1st grade Daisy troop meets weekly on Wednesday afternoons. A 2nd and 3rd grade Brownie troop meets bimonthly on Wednesday afternoons. A Kindergarten Daisy troop meets Monday's afterschool. Before and After Care Options outside of Rilke Schule:
The
following before and after care options are available through outside
companies that offer transportation from Rilke Schule to their
program. As such, they are in control of their own fees and
registration process. Families must contact them directly to verify
availability and fees, as well as to register.
If you sign you child up for an After Care Option that does not begin until 3 PM on Fridays, you must sign them up for the Optional Intensive program as well.
Anchorage Gymnastics Association (AGA) is providing Rilke students with a Gymnastic Sport Camp before and after school program for all grade levels. This option will be available starting August 22nd! Please visit www.anchorage-gymnastics.com
or call 563-3041 to get complete information. Registration packets for
AGA are available at their gym, located at 525 W Potter Drive and will
also be at our registration. AGA’s sports camp allows families to
drop kids off at their facility on Potter at 7 am, and they drive them
to Rilke Schule in a van for the start of the day. At the end of the
day, the van will return to pick them up at Change Point & bring
them to the gym for afterschool care. You really must visit this gym
to see how fun, well equipped, and professional they are. AGA is very
flexible; they allow parents to register for any imaginable schedule,
with pricing depending on need. We are excited to work with them.
Arctic Gymnastics
is another option for families with before and aftercare. Their Arctic
location opens at 7 am, and a van will drive students to school. At
the end of the day, they will pick up the students from school and
return to the gym from 2:45-6:00. They will have one hour of exercise
in the gym and other activities such as art, games, and direct help
with homework. Arctic Gymnastics prices are as follows: Before &
After care- 20$ per day (includes ride). After care only (including
ride) is 15$ a day. Their facility will also be open on in-services

Boys & Girls Club
Woodland Park is offering after-school care including van pick-up from

Champ Tae Kwon Do, located at 113 W. Northern
